Personal
I grew up as a mixed-race foster child in south Louisiana. As a result of my life experiences, I knew that I wanted to make a difference to people who grew up like me. I attended Louisiana State University majoring in Biology, then Business, then finally settled on Anthropology and Political Science. Thankfully Dr. Jim Garand, Dr. Pam Monroe, and Dr. Belinda Davis saw my potential and steered me down the research path!
Some fun facts about me: I enjoy baking (GBBO is an inspiration), reading, listening to podcasts (Last Podcast on the Left; Modern Love; Terrible, Thanks for Asking; Park Predators; etc…), and watching TV (British Crime Dramas, Masterpiece Classics, Mockumentaries (What We Do in the Shadows), Competition Shows, and non-British Crime Dramas). Also, I have a cool little family that consists of my husband, toddler, and two dogs, so most of my free time is spent with them.
